Trigger Frequency in SendJim (Zapier)

Trigger Frequency controls how often a SendJim automation is allowed to run for the same contact or address when using Zapier. This setting helps prevent duplicate or excessive mailings, even if your Zap is triggered multiple times.

How It Works

When Trigger Frequency is set, SendJim will process the mailing once and block any additional sends for that contact or address until the selected time period has passed.

This is especially helpful if your CRM or connected software updates records frequently or triggers events more than once.

Why Use Trigger Frequency?

  • Prevents duplicate mail pieces
  • Avoids over-mailing the same household
  • Protects against repeat sends caused by record updates

Best Practices

  • Choose a frequency that matches how often your source system triggers events.
  • When in doubt, start with a longer frequency window.
  • Review this setting anytime you change your automation logic.

How to Update an Existing Zap with Trigger Frequency

If you already have a Zap set up with SendJim, you can update it at any time to apply the Trigger Frequency setting.

Steps to Update Your Zap

  1. Log in to your Zapier account.
  2. Open the Zap you want to update.
  3. Navigate to the SendJim action step.
  4. Click Edit to open the action settings.
  5. Locate the Trigger Frequency option (under the Configuration step).
  6. Select the frequency that best fits your workflow.
    1. Always Send
    2. 1 Day
    3. One Time Only
    4. 1 Week
    5. 1 Month
    6. 6 Months
    7. 1 Year
  1. Review your field mappings to ensure no other settings were changed.
  2. Test the action to confirm it runs successfully.
  3. Publish the Zap to save and activate your changes.

Important Note

Trigger Frequency changes do not apply retroactively. The updated setting will only affect future Zap runs.
